



Fourth Reunion
    The Fourth Annual Reunion of the Burgin Family was held at Bethel Church July 15. This was by far the largest Reunion yet to be held.

     At 10:00 the morning program began with singing. Later Rev. Pyatt, pastor of Bethel Church, delivered the Invocation. Talks were made by Robert McGimpsey, Register of Deeds of McDowell County, Rev. Hager of Marion, and Lewis Allison of Old Fort. Special music by the Howell Burgin quartet was enjoyed. At the noon hour a bountiful dinner was served.

     The Evening Service was called to order by the president J. A. Burgin.

     Prayer was offered by J. D. Pyatte. The minutes of last meeting were approved. Several matters relating to Business were discussed, and Miss Margaret Whittington of Mars Hill College, sang a beautiful solo.

     Talks were made by the following: C. L. Lytle, T. E. Osborne, Ed Lyda, and Miss Margaret Whittington.

     The Singing of the Hymn, God be with you till we meet again Marked the close of the most successful reunion yet.

     Committee appointed to set out shade trees around church. Trees to be donated by Professor Tate, H. B. Walker was appointed chairman of this committee and J. P. Walker and Alphonso Burgin to set out trees or attend this matter.
