Eleventh Reunion

     The Eleventh Anual (sic) Burgin-Lytle Reunion meet at Bethel Methodist Church July 20, 1941.

 

     The service began with a congregational song. The Invocation was given by Grady Burgin and Mr. John Lytle made an address of Welcome.

​

     The Stamps-Baxter Happy Four and The Cross Mill quartet sang two selections each.

​

     Miss Mary Greenlee introduced the speaker of the hour, Judge J. Will Pless Jr. Judge Pless brought to us an inspiring message.

​

     After the closing prayer by Mr. Henry Burgin we ajouned (sic) for Lunch. There was plenty to eat on the tables below the church and it was an occasion of many greetings from absent friends and kinsmen.

​

     The afternoon Service was opened by a congregational song. Special music was rendered by "Stamps-Baxter Happy Four," "Cross Mill Quartet," and the "Ledbetter Quartet", Burgin Quartet.

​

     There was an interesting catechism on the Burgin-Lytle history conducted by Mr. Columbus Lytle.

​

     A Memorial Service was conducted by Mrs. J. G. Bailey in honor of Mr. Will Burgin, Mr. J. L. Lytle, and Mr. Paris Lytle who died since our last meeting a year ago.

​

     Grady Burgin gave a short talk.

​

     All officers were reelected for the coming year.

​

     The congregation sang as a closing hymn "God Be With You Till We Meet
