



Ninth Reunion
   The Nineth (sic) Annual "Burgin-Lytle Reunion" met at Bethel Methodist Church July 16, 1939. The meeting was called to order by the President J. A. Burgin. The congregation joined in singing "Bless Be the Tie That Binds." In the absence of Rev. l. T. Pyatt the invocation was given by Rev. C. E. Gilliam. Another Hymn was sung and the address of Welcome was given by Grady Burgin (son of Thomas Burgin. The Burgin trio gave a special number (children of Mrs. Hal Burgin and the Late Mr. Hal Burgin of Gastonia) Rev. R. E. Ward Spoke on the "Ideal family"'. The meeting ajourned (sic) at Twelve o'clock for lunch. A Bountiful lunch was spread on the tables below the church.

   The meeting again conveened (sic) at 1 .•30 0'clock. Special music was rendered by the Lytle quartet, The Burgin quartet, the Vess trio and others. Francis Burgin's grand children gave an interesting program of song and recitals. A number of speakers were called to the flour (sic) and The Burgin-Lytle History was discussed.

            In the Business session the following officers were elected:
                    President: Alvis Lytle
                    Secretary: Grady Burgin
                    Historian: E. D. Lytle
              Program committee
                   Chairman: Miss Mary Greenlee
                   Miss Sallie Lou Burgin
                   Miss Mary Burgin
                   Mrs. Cassie Bailey.
The next meeting was scheduled to be held July 21 , 1940 at Bethel Methodist Church.
