



Sixth Reunion
       Held July 19, 1936

      The Burgin and Lytle reunion was called to order by the Pres. Bro. J. A. Burgin after a song by all, and invocation by Rev. J. W. Phillips Pastor Cherry Springs Baptist Church.

    The address of welcome was made by Rev. B. A. Sisk Pastor Old Fort Circuit, at this time a communication from J. Will Pless Jr. was read expressing regrets on being unable to be with us on account of the death of a relative, W. T. Morgan being on the programme (sic) also sent regrets.

     Their places were taken on the Programme (sic) by County Supt. Caldwell and other good speakers. after several good selections played by the Orchestra from Gastonia and the introduction of the Burgin from Ala. adjournment was taken for dinner.

Afternoon Session. 2:p.m.

     After a selection played by the Orchestra several good speeches were made by Thomas Osborne, Harrison Burgin, E. T. Burgin, and Aden Burgin and others on the lives of the Pioneer Burgins.

     C. L. Lytle read a Biographical sketch of Capt. Thomas Lytle & wife of Revolutionary fame.

     At this time a written invitation to hold our next reunion in Old Fort was read from the Mayor and Alderman, County Supt and school committee of Od Fort offering the Reunion the facilities of the school house and grounds for our next reunion. But after due consideration it was deemed best not to change our meeting place. The resolution committee made their report at this time, there being no other business, after singing God be with us till we meet again. Next year at the same time and place.
