



Seventh Reunion
The 7th Annual Burgin-Lytle Reunion was held at Cherry Springs Baptist Church July 18" 1937.

   Facing a sea of faces gathered in the Church and at the doors, J. A. Burgin Pres. of the reunion, at 10 o'clock a.m. called the assembly to order.

    All joined in singing, after which Prayer was offered by George Moore of Kings Mountain.

    A. E. Davis of the Cherry Springs Baptist congregation extended a welcome on behalf of the Church and Community. Then the Burgin quartet were heard in song. The leading speech of the day was on the subject of what I Know of the Burgin Lytle Clan by Judge J. Will Pless which was listened to with Keen interest.

    R. V. McGimsey and D. F. Giles also made fine talks which was appreciated very much.
​
   At 12 0'clock a bountiful dinner was spred (sic) which was not slighted by the 500 people present. After dinner the assembly was photographed. At 200 O'clock p.m. the assembly was again called to order and further family history was given by Speakers intimately acquainted with the facts.
​
   The resolution committee expressed their appreciation for the hospitality of the members of the Cherry Springs Baptist Church. Also to the Marion news papers for helpful publicity.
​
Tommie Burgin Alvis Lytle and W. B. Burgin were appointed as a committee to Select a meeting place for the reunion for the year 1939.
J. A. Burgin was re-elected president.
E. T. Burgin was named Sec'ty. to Succeed W. A. Burgin.
​
The meeting adjourned to meet again on 3rd Sunday in July 1938.
